In the immediate vicinity of the Erlahammer manor house is the Rother Berg Mining Landscape. As early as the mid-13th century, haematite was extracted here and moved along an ore transport route to Erlahammer for further processing. Relics of previous mining activity can be seen in the forested landscape, including heaps and sinkholes belonging to the former iron mines, the remnants of a charcoal pile, and a powder house dating back to the early 19th century.
