The Pöhlberg Mining Landscape is an example of the development of silver and copper ore mining within the area of rural development on the eastern slopes of the Pöhlberg mountain near the mining town of Annaberg-Buchholz. The unique historic remnants and mine workings, dating mainly from the 15th to 18th century, are directly connected to the processing of silver-bearing copper ore in the Grünthal liquation works.
