The Zug Mining Landscape connects the Freiberg and Brand-Erbisdorf mining districts. From the 16th century, silver, copper and lead ores were extracted here, as evidenced by the buildings and heap rows, which are still largely preserved. The underground power station at the Drei Brüder Schacht shaft, commissioned around 1913, demonstrates how mining facilities were repurposed to generate electricity, with the historical water supply from the mining area being reused to power new forms of industry.
