The lime works is situated in forestry scenery between the communities of Háj near Loučná pod Klínovcem und Kovářská. It accounts for the greatest evidence of mining and processing calcareous rock for the purpose of lime production within the Czech part of the Ore Mountains. It represents a significant technical plant – the oldest preserved lime works of its kind in Czech Republic. Established in the mid of 19th century by Count Buquoy, the owner of the local lordship, the lime works realized its purpose until mid of 20th century. Two polygonal shaft furnaces and remains of additional buildings have been preserved. In order to mine dolomitic limestone as the basic material a quarry has been run immediately behind the plant.
