The Schwarze Pinge sinkhole is close to the centre of the Eibenstock Mining Landscape and is one of the largest sinkholes caused by the collapse of mining shafts. It runs east to west for roughly 200 metres. Parallel to the northern end of the Schwarze Pinge are multiple lines of smaller sinkholes and trench-like depressions resulting from collapsed funnel shafts.
