Alte Mordgrube Mine ‒ Mine Forge

The mine forge is located at the eastern side of the Alte Mordgrube mine complex and was erected as a new building in1856. It features a single storey structure with measures of 21 m in length and 13 m in width. The slate covered roof holds irregular arranged gable dormers. The main entrance is located at the yard side. After termination of mining the forge was reused for housing with alterations in the original room layout. The position of doors and windows has been adapted to the new conditions.
