More than 130 ore veins were mined during the 16th century. Beside areas with large concentration of ore veins a hill located between the Eduard and Rovnost mine has been of strong importance. Here, a number of cross-cutting N-S and E-W trending silver ore veins were mined from dozens of shallow shafts. Remains of this 16th-century mining period appear as intersections of lined up heaps and depressions at the former shafts. They follow the trend of the main silver ore veins. The highest concentration of heaps and shaft collapses can be found at the intersection of the Johann, Georg and Roth veins.
