The Eisenhütte Erlahammer ironworks, probably the oldest in the Erzgebirge, was located in the administrative district of the town of Schwarzenberg. The mid-17th century manor is testament to the importance of the iron production and processing works in former times. It includes the manor house itself, a U-shaped half-timbered building and a connecting structure, which together enclose a courtyard. The tradition of iron processing still continues today at the former production site just a stone’s throw from the manor.
