The Starý Martin adit is one of the most important workings of the Krupka Mining District. It was founded in 1864 in order to develop the north-western part of the Lukáš vein. The length of the tin-tungsten bearing vein along strike is 2 km, and therefore, it is the longest tin-tungsten ore vein within Czech Republic and Central Europe. In 2000 it was opened to the public as a visitor mine exhibiting numerous mining techniques used from the mid-19th century to the 1980s. Since the Martin adit is connected with the Dürrholz adit a unique working from the second half of the 15th century can be visited.
