The Marie Pomocná adit was the most important adit on the Mědník hill. It represents a fairly extensive system of underground drifts of various ages. The oldest parts are situated approximately 15 m above the level of the main drift and date back to the 16th century. Between 1911 and 1944 the Marie Pomocná adit was already opened to the public, at this time with access into the so-called malachite cave. That's a large stope with green and blue coating of secondary copper minerals (malachite and azurite) on the walls. Today this site is inaccessible. Within the 50ies the adit has been reworked for uranium exploration. Within two periods between 1994 - 1997 and 2007 - 2012 it was prepared for a visitor mine again. Thereby, a large and extensive system of drifts had been discovered, which is now accessible on a 230 m section above the main adit.
