In the valley of Hrazený creek south and southwest of Zlatý Kopec, tin ore was extracted from steep quartz veins crosscutting the predominant phyllites. Mining activity is attested by countless relicts such as adits, pits, heaps, shaft depressions or open cuts. Favourable morphologic conditions allowed development by a number of adits and shallow shafts. The largest concentration of old mines from the 16th to 19th century is located on a steep hillside above the right banks of the Hrazený creek. A large heap of the “Hoffnung zu Gott" mine just above the settlement dates back to the last period of mining in the 1920s and 1930s. Further typical features are dozens of circular sites from former charcoal kilns. The entire area is surrounded by forest and has preserved its authentic appearance of a historical mining landscape.
