Buchholz’s place of execution was situated southwest of the town, on the Galgenberg (‘Gallows Hill’). It is not only the name that indicates what this site was used for: the so-called “Galgensteine” (gibbet rocks) are further reminders of its past. This is a large rocky mound in which numerous letters and years from the 15th and 16th centuries have been inscribed.
